Consuming its environment, the drawing apparatus encapsulates the space within it. The apparatus mimics the immersive nature of sound by creating an isolated environment in which an individual can become a part of. My process began through the exploration of drawing blindfolded as an observational tool. By hindering my sight, intensified my sense of sound allowing me to draw purely from what I could hear and not what I could see.
Sound can be understood and represented in numerous forms; it is used to communicate, to convey emotion, to suggest an action or a response. Its presence is consistent, yet often unacknowledged due to its lack of visibility. My work aims to challenge this perception by providing sound with a physical tangible form, by creating a visual representation of audial observation's through the use of contemporary drawing practices.
